Strategic Mandate & Rationale

Bangladesh Institute for Geopolitical Studies (BIGS) operates as an independent think tank devoted to the study of peace, security, and strategic affairs in South and Southeast Asia. Leading strategic thinkers, academicians, former diplomats, military officers, and media practitioners collaborate to devise comprehensive security frameworks.

Under this initiative, the Bangladesh Centre for Terrorism Research (BCTR) has been established as a specialized institute dedicated to data management, empirical research, and policy formulation on counter-radicalization and security threats.
